The Document Foundation announced LibreOffice 25.8.7 today as the seventh and last maintenance update to the latest LibreOffice 25.8 office suite series with various bug fixes.
Coming two months after LibreOffice 25.8.6, the LibreOffice 25.8.7 release is packed with more fixes to address various bugs, crashes, and other annoyances reported by users in an attempt to improve the overall stability and reliability of this popular open-source, free, and cross-platform office suite.
In numbers, LibreOffice 25.8.7 addresses a total of 11 bugs. Details about these bugs are available in the RC1, RC2, and RC3 changelogs. Meanwhile, you can download LibreOffice 25.8.7 as binaries for DEB and RPM-based GNU/Linux distributions, as well as a source tarball, right now from the official website.
Of course, if you have LibreOffice installed from the software repositories of your GNU/Linux distribution, it is highly recommended that you wait until the LibreOffice 25.8.7 update arrives there before updating your installations.

LibreOffice 25.8 was released on August 20th, 2025, introducing major changes like support for exporting PDF 2.0, up to 30% faster opening of files in Writer and Calc, optimized memory management for smoother operation on virtual desktops and thin clients, improved scrolling through large documents, completely overhauled word hyphenation and spacing, as well as many other changes.
The LibreOffice 25.8 office suite series will only be supported until June 12th, 2026. There will be no more maintenance updates, which means that you should consider updating your installations to the latest LibreOffice 26.2 series as soon as possible. The latest release is LibreOffice 26.2.3.
Once again, The Document Foundation reminds us that this is the “Community” edition of LibreOffice, which is supported only by volunteers. For enterprise-class deployments, The Document Foundation recommends using the LibreOffice Enterprise family of applications from ecosystem partners. More details here.
